The One

What do you do? When you find yourself starving? So confused You risk flesh carving. Perhaps then The loneliness will subside When no longer By social rules, do you abide. You shove away dark thoughts And bring forth the Sun Attempting to use the light To find the fabled, "The One". Friends give you assurance You'll find him in due time But when, you ask Must I forever rant in rhyme? About that hidden face The person I know not And with that they could rescue My heart from this shameless rot. But I'll continue to search As if I had a choice Until the Sun goes black And my soul has no voice.
