The Old and New Mes
The old me would say “Goodbye.”
The new me says “Where have you been?”
The old me would say “I don’t care.”
The new me says “I miss you.”
The old me would say “Whatever...”
The new me says “What happened?”
The old me would say “I’m really tired of all this ****.”
The new me says “I wonder if your life’s the same. Is it?”
The old me would say “I’m sick of your complaints.”
The new me says “I wonder if your life has changed. Has it?”
The old me would say “Let’s Michael Jackson and say ‘Beat it’!”
The new me says “Let’s Adele and say ‘Hello’!”
The old me would say “Forget about me!”
The new me says “Please, don’t leave!”
The old me would say “Go live your life!”
The new me says “Share your life with me.”
The old me would say “It’s not my business.”
The new me says “I’ve been worried about you.”
The old me would say “I’m done!”
The new me says “It’s not what it seemed.”
The old me would say “I won’t change my mind.”
The new me says “I’ve never changed my mind.”
The old me would say “Move on!”
The new me says “Come back!”
The old me would say “Unfortunately, that’s the way it is.”
The new me says “Unfortunately, it had to be that way.”
The old me would say “I mean every single word.”
The new me says “I know you know I didn’t.”
The old me would say “This time, it’s over!”
The new me says “Is it safe to start it over?”
The old me would say “Don’t ever look for me again!”
The new me says “I’m still the old me.”
The old me would say “You’ll never hear from me again.”
The new me says “I am this new person.”
The old me would say “Believe me.”
The new me says “Believe in me.”
The old me would say “I’m sorry.”
The new me says “I’m sorry I lied.”
The old me would say “It’s worth it only if it’s healthy and safe.”
The new me says “Some things never change.”
