Hi James, This haiku reminds me of pre-women's liberation days in America. Is it still like that in Scotland? You know, women on the pedestal, bowing as needed, and serving the king his meals. I can see the analogy between man and the lion. The lionesses are the hunters, feeding the pride. (I think.) I wrote a poem about women's Lib. Did you happen to see it? I like your Haiku. It says a lot. And though seemingly simple, says so much about social structure! Very nice! Lovingly, Dane

I'm not sure if you meant to do this but the placement of your letter "o" throughout the poem gives a boldness to the words. Bold and proud like the lion. you have done an excellent job with this style. you've taken a snapshot of a powerful image. great write!!!
