The Loneliness of Pain
.... " The Loneliness Of Pain " .....
From the door a crack of light and nothing more ,
As I lay curled up upon the cold floor ,
Having no energy at all to get to my feet,
A single tear rolls down my cheek, the floor to meet,
Chronic pain don't care if you are young or old,
It's always there in the heat and the cold ,
It don't care if you're working, or are poor,
If you have lots of friends or none at the front-door ,
Or if your educated, or can't read or write.
It still gonna hit you with all its might ,
It does not care about the colour of your skin,
whether you are tall, short, fat or thin ,
For pain will never discriminate.
It's always there for you to fear and hate ,
And the world gets smaller every day,
When all your emotions get in the way,
And you're always trying to run away ,
For that's better than facing another day ,
Sick and tired of having to paint on this smile ,
Just so you can go that extra mile ,...
