The Lament of a Saint

Oh Lord I search for you in the mist of my confusion and troubles Many of my questions seek for answers I am tired of the situation When will this ordeal end? Most times I am in a crowd yet very lonely Trust is now fearful, because of betrayal My own close friends and confidants continually deceive me My lot has become an emotional and physical pain Lord I ask when will you come to my rescue? Answer me now that I am alive For the dead is no benefit to you For I know the dead can’t give you praise, neither can they fellowship with you Search my heart oh Lord and purge me of all sin Let your mercy speak on my behalf I pray your angels protect me, from this harsh world Comforter where are you? Savior have you abandoned me? My ordeal is too heavy for me to bear Tears have become my breakfast, lunch and dinner If not for the testimony of the saints that I have heard, I would have lost hope In the past you oh Lord have delivered me from the lion and the bear I know that your word is true Not only true but also potent Lord tarry no more This words come from a man in trouble A man in pain A man who has lost all hope Tarry no more Lord Answer me and deliver me In my pain, I will I praise you In my lack, I will give you thanks In cheerfulness I will wait for you Impatience has never solved a problem Not even in the physical Lord I know you will never leave me nor forsake me And in your time you make all things beautiful May your embrace and touch bring light to my soul Light of faith and hope For the path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day While I wait patiently: I will dwell with your Word and in your word And continuously lift my voice in praise of your Holy name.
