I have been on a long journey
The road I have travelled has been a rocky one
I have wept my tears
My sky black as ink
In a life of dangerous curves and hanging cliffs
And deep sadness and grief
A giant storm all around me and swirling clouds
But it seems that I am a survivor of yesterdays
It is time for me to fly
It is time to open my eyes and take a leap
A plunge into the unknown and to believe in me
To soar and find myself
No more will I hang my head like a dying flower
I have made peace with the past at last
The door is padlocked and chained
Nightmares and ghosts must hide away
Now it is time to make each moment count
It is limitless where I will go
One day at a time and one step at a time
I will float like a ship in a shoreless sea
This journey begins within me
I want to make a difference in the world
But accept that it is not a race
But the dance of life
I want to enjoy the journey
Each and every little stepping stone
Time for this butterfly to try her wings
My life will be full of open spaces
And I will drift with the storms in life
And just hop a ride upon a cloud
I am ready to sail across the sky
