The Illusion of Poverty

In my poverty I have the luxury of Not starving or being hungry In that same poverty I have the luxury of having a warm bed and A space to call my own In my poverty I have the luxury of Friends in high places I dress in suits I entertain on stages Sometimes I limp But mostly I'm walking I pay little for nice clothes I indulge in white chocolate And my daily bread is free My education comes from classes Free to the public And my spirit who guides me Makes me thankful with my pen All the things that I have While others in the same poverty Have nothing, hunger, freeze With no where to go But I see my comfort in God's hands I see Gods sentimentality Towards me I look back and see so many things Through poverty that shouldn't be But was All the nice things I got for nothing It wasn't for free But it was by grace The difference between poverty And providence God is my Moses in my wilderness

I participate in two worlds, as business manager at a BMW dealer I have met some people with a poverty of the heart that makes me sad. I also volunteer at a homeless shelter where I have met many with the most wealthy of spirits. I find it a most interesting contrast. Poverty can indeed be an illusion. Wealth can also be an illusion of the most devastating kind because it deceives people into thinking they do not need God.

wow, you are a fortunate one to find such good in poverty. I enjoy your grateful spirit. We are mostly lucky in this country. Even in poverty, there are places to be found that aid us. And those of great faith will be able to find that help easily. May all those that are suffering in poverty find such richness in rewards. Being humble and grateful make it all so much sweeter.

Oh Lord... This is a wonderful piece John loving... You are so true in this... Most times, we so focus on the things we have not and claim we are poor or suffering, but if we can just bend our heads a little bit lower and cross check humanity in a wider horizon, we will understand that HIS GRACE IS INDEED SUFFICIENT~! Thank you so much for such a share
