The Hunt
Hither and dither I search
What am I Iooking for, I wish I knew
Just in a dream last night, was told to look
Think I am going mad as a pile of nothings I aquire
Went through the drawers in all bedrooms three
Pile of maybe’s line the floor
Maybe I will throw out or maybe I will keep
I wish oh how I wish I knew the score
Oh is it this jumper with tag still on,
Oh my! when did I buy it I ask myself
Not quite the colour I would usually try
Maybe in the xmas pile it can be of some use
Then a smile lit my face, a small box I espy
Will it be empty or are the contents there
I see a ring of not much value at all yet
In memories is too priceless to share.
Was from a lad many years before
Gave it to me before he passed away
Just a friendship ring, with memories abound
As I place it on my finger, I sat and cried.
