Yes, when one door closes, another one shuts. Great verse, and well done, Peter. Anywho, enough introspection, oh lyrical travel agent- we could all do with being transported to Wyoming, or Korea, chattering bedlam, spices, goats in the street, Joss sticks, beads.... we're in the coldest March for 53 years over here.

I enjoyed reading this poem! I was slightly humored by it, yet at the same time, it has a sad, weary tone to it as well. Lovely one, and thanks for posting! Always, Laura

Rings my bell amigo. So many times I've felt that way in my long life. My problem was the Gate WAS NOT LOCKED. I was just too blind to see... Thank God my eyes were eventually opened. Great write A7 my friend..

"...could be worse.....could be raining" this is an interesting write leaving the interpretation open to so many variables. Nicely done.
