The Free Giver

His breadth of life did he give freely, His world without strife did he give cheerfully, His time of rest did he give up selflessly, As he came to save his own intently, His friendship and love did he propose, As he drew us closer even when others opposed, His perfect peace did He instill in our lives when trouble's billows rose, With his loving teachings the world has the best prose, But sin held its claim on His creation as they began to wail, Holding on to their joy and happiness as it left sorrow's trail, Bounding man in its rusty shackles and chains as it dragged men to jail, Hope seemed an elusion as there was no one to lift doom's veil, But a bitter cup did he drink as he willingly reached out to us in sin's depth' Praying in pain and being soaked in the sweat of blood as he wept, Dreaming and resting peacefully on mockery's pillow as he slept, He gracefully laid down his life and paid our debt, But he triumphantly took up his life and shared with us a prayer, Touching our hearts and being life's healer, Not always at the receiving end,he was a bad receiver, He is Jesus Christ the free giver,
