I tell you this truth: I will not fight to keep you You have to do that The battle for love Is fraught with pain and with tears but reward is sweet You search high and low: Unable to build your nest True love eludes you In that searching glance Lost will be the faithful heart where love made a home think well and think long weight the matters of the heart for therein lies life Eileen Manassian

Anyway...turns out some teachers are giving grades in on Monday...So, a bit of a breather. As for saying you don't consider me frumpy...WELL...that just gets you CYBER BEAR HUGS.

Sometimes we need the one we love to fight for us. When we are tired that may be the only thing that holds us together. There is lots to think about here. Check first line stanza three.

Yes, Richard....Some things are worth fighting for...Sometimes...even misunderstandings between friends can ruin a friendship, but....if there is genuine love....both parties will fight for that friendship to strive....IF there is a love. I'm glad you feel with me...Is it the use of the colon that got you? Please tell me what's wrong with the line. hugs

YES, Eileen, "true love eludes us" is true for as long as we are not ready for it! Once ready, no fight is needed, for it fits us like hand and glove! Profound poem with great truths revealed for those who ready are to "fight" against their own demons. Love shines for ever bright only those blind in heart do not see it! A seven for its philosophic merit!

Hand and glove is a beauty analogy for two hearts, my dear poet. You are always so sweet in what you say....If you say it has philosophic merit, then I'm glad to be your student and learn more...for you know my esteem of you. You know this well. Love takes a lot of work at times....and sacrifice...sometimes people are not willing to go that far.....or are afraid. There are many reasons why love eludes...Thank you for your lovely post and visit. Hugs

I esteem the wisdom in that first verse...you cannot, nor should not force someone to appreciate your precious love treasure...however, endurance through trials and qualms is absolutely worth it when hearts truly merge. To persist in changing someone's nature or attitude to create long lasting love is often fruitless. Fortunately, there's no hiding or denying real love...and yes, sometimes we search right past the love we need. Excellent display wisdom Eileen...J.A.B.

Not only are you handsome, Justin, but you are wise. I can be a fierce and indomitable fighter...if I have assurance of love. Then I'm fierce and bold....much like an Eagle. ;) Yes, true love will withstand any test of time. Searching right past the love we need...that isn't wise, is it? Hugs to you, Justin. I will not fight to keep you/you have to do that..I really believe in such words Eileen.I would rather live miserable and unloved,then with the doubt that there is someone else sharing the one I love.I wouldnt fight for him..I.just walk away and close the door. I love the wisdom in your words.Btw..Lovely avatar sis.

I know the feeling, sweetie, but sometimes, life offers little choice and often people stay in relationships because of other considerations. This is the reality of life for many. To accept less than full hearted love is very sad indeed. Thanks for the compliment on my avatar. I was in a crazy mood. Hugs

Thank you, Tim. Some things are worth fighting for. The death of love is a terrible thing. One wonders at times....what could have been done to keep it going strong. Hope you are having a good day.
