The Fare
"nothing lasts forever"
not the day
or the night,
or your love-
but it's not true.
The past remains
as the present descends,
nothing to stay forever
but there all the same.
And when we fear it creeps to quick
we see loss
in place of passed,
whereas to have known is always knowing.
A fortune beyond value.
