The Family
She stands there in her ragged clothes, every night without fail
Just staring at the ocean waves, her heart beats with every swell
This fair young maiden all alone, stood on the waters edge
Nobody can see the pain in her eyes or the thoughts going round her head
She calls their names but all the time the wind blows it away
She waits & waits just calling, hoping they will come home one day!
The last time that she saw them they were sailing in the sea
Running away from a country in trouble, risking their life just to flee
Fifty people in just one boat, packed tightly to the core
Holding onto her love and her only child slowly heading for the shore,
Thinking of the better life she wants to give her child
No one noticed the weather that was growing very wild
She holds her child close to her chest, praying they make dry land
The boat is slowly sinking and there is no help at hand
As the water slowly carries all their prayers away
The waves get big & bolder and the lands too far away!
Into the watery darkness she starts to sink real quick
Moving her loving baby as high as she could get
But nothing can help this family as they sink into the sea
No help is being sent and no one is there to see
They only wanted a better life from all the death & war
That's why they tried to sail into a better friendly shore
No one survived the deadly sea, no one got to the land
The last thing that she saw was her love trying to grab her hand
So every night she waits and calls no matter what the cost
Her ghost will be there every night till she finds what she has lost
