The Faerie Tapestry
The winter night and day........
Were so long.........
The nights beginning to pall
She set to work.........
On a tapestry for the great hall
The most beautiful ever seen.
Fit for a King and Queen
Full of glowing lights to be seen......
From the field of green
Gold of the Faerie love,
smiling down from above
Diligently they worked through
Even the youngers!.........
Pulling the green thread too
How the tapestry grew!
Faerie magic blessed too.......
The tapestry came alive too
The Faeries had woven in
The love of all things
kindness,
sweetness,
and glowings
The dancing lights,
through the field of green
Enchanting
Beauty to be seen
All winter it took.......
Hidden away..........
For no one to look
Until the winter became a spring day
The green and gold
Radiating glowing fire
Melting the cold
How soft it felt!
Beauty to make the heart melt
The Faeries carried it through
expectant faces following in the castle hall
The Faeries rose,
with the tapestry made
Such colour!
Such a beautiful thing to be laid............
On the castle wall.............
The green gleamed
The gold beamed
Tiny glowing wings
and mysterious things
There it hung for all to see......
So soft to feel,
yet as strong as steel
The Faeries shone with glee
The winters work done,
now ,glowing like the sun
Treasure in the great hall
Above the castle wall
