The Courting of Sal Brown

He said he loved her and he always would, Gave her a smile and cocked his head just so. Then he looked in her eyes, just like he should, And told her that he'd never let her go. He said that her skin was so soft and clean And that it was made for just one man's touch. Her hair was silken with a golden sheen He loved her soft glow and her smell so much. She kind of smiled, gazed at her new lover, Said, "Stranger, you're a handsome kind of mess! Must be drivin' them cows with no cover, You're different from the others I confess. "Next time you're passin' through this old cowtown, Just ask anyone for me - name's Sal Brown." September 15, 2016 For Contest No. 203
