The Choices We Make

Why do we choose the roads we take? Is it the craving for some speed, or to go for something that we need. Why do we choose the things we do? Is it just to satisfy the ego, or reach a goal, change status quo. Why do we choose the things we see? To satisfy our eyes to some degree or find the answer on what we can be. Why do we choose the things we taste? To fill our hunger with such haste, or know somehow what’s stored by fate. Why do we choose the things we say? Is it to be just carried away, or to take control, not easily swayed. Why do we choose the ones we love? Just to answer the urgency of lust, or to cherish the people that we must. Very true. I always have these question in my mind. Are we actually predestined to be the way we are? Or do we actually have the littlest of control over our actions? coz quite often we commit some mistakes that we already know. Liked this poem :) Rajkumar

Ah, that will be quite difficult, sir. Looking back, many times, one may have been my answer, other times it's the second. Still on several occasions, it's the shade in between. We know however, deep in our heart the right choice at any given point in time. Alas, the "the spirit is willing, but the body is weak"...But no matter, God is in control. You can share yours, if you wish. :D Kim

Hellow dear poet. Well, this would have been a great Ryhme, 'cept'n, the end of your write. Never use 'I don't know'.....choose, Free verse. This write has some serious potential Kim, I mean it! I read your write, and even tried to come up with an ending for this write; even using foreign languages which many of Soupers can understand, and...no go. I'd like to see this write as a Ryhme. It is really good ! Let me know if you contort your ending....peace...much love, james

Profound questions that the human mind unable is to give answers with certitude! I tried in my latest poems to give answers and before that as well. The answer I venture to give now is this: We do all this as in response to the innate laws of harmonious coexistence with the divine plan! I have enjoyed your philosophical poem my dear lady, from the one thousand islands! Wonderful work, Kim!
