The Busiest Time of the Year

There's no busier time of the year than now A time to enjoy the company of family and friends To renew old acquaintances and establish new ones A time of love when we forget all the negatives And enjoy all the positives that life has to offer If it wasn't for this holiday season We'd most likely all being living in the looney bin Being spoon fed some mushy stuff And carrying on conversations with imaginary friends For us poets, carrying on conversations With imaginary friends is quite normal But for the average Jack or Jill on the street It's a new and scary experience The saving grace is that it's only a temporary thing And eventually reality sets in But until then, live it up and enjoy This busiest, most heart warming time of the year © Jack Ellison 2014

I just love the last line of your poem my friend! That is so very true, and sentimental! You are just lovely Jack, so very grandiose in your tenderness! I really enjoyed reading your wondrous piece here this evening! What a fabulous write, Great Work!! Oh, and watch out for Carol's Spider, you never know what it'll do!!

Reality sets in? Nooo... Say it isn't true! I don't want it to! What? Grandpa Troll says don't worry. He'll always be there. Shew! That's a relief to know! Dragon wants to know what all the bother's about? Don't think I'll tell him. Hubby says if he doesn't have his Trolls in the basement, he might start talking to that spider hanging from the ceiling. We DON't want to anger a spider! After all, you know ANYTHING can happen around here! Are you trying to stir trouble again? Be good! Santa Jack!
