The Best Days of Summer

A little girl reluctant to leave, Only yesterday was homesick, A beach house, Theirs only for a week, Beautiful and spacious, A short walk to a beautiful beach, With crashing blue-green waves, And beautiful shells washed ashore, First year Mom didn't come, Oh, How I miss those days, The crash of waves replaced shouting, A house on stilts replaced my home on the hill, These were truly the best days of summer.
