The Apple Doesn'T Fall Far From the Tree

Why do people always say this? Just because these people are our parents doesn't mean We have to be just like them. Everyone assumes I'm like my birth father When something goes missing I am blamed because HE was a kleptomaniac When my sister is hurt I am blamed because HE was abusive When I do something wrong They say it's because I'm like him Because HIS blood runs in my veins When I am telling the truth They assume I'm lying because HE was a pathological liar I hate being related to someone like this I hate that HE is my father But most of all, I am afraid of turning out like him I hate when people say The apple doesn't fall far from the tree
