Thanksgiving Tanka
THANKSGIVING TANKA
first fall snow
what i’ve dreaded
all summer
august september and october
just flew right by
mid november snow
thanksgiving just three days away
christmas just a month
to hell with coffee
a shot of wild turkey
dear old mother
times are tough
no thanksgiving turkey
“go kill the chicken!”
she said with forced smile
thanksgiving dinner
so much to eat
i’m almost sick
but company wants a violin solo
deep burple
thanksgiving ham
no wings
no wishbone
I’m pissed
make drumsticks from knife and fork
