Taste of Silence

the day melts to orange... gaunt pines climb the ridge to jab invulnerable clouds rock formations are mauve and rust-red in twilight deep jagged chasms a meadow turns pink as evening nibbles at stars a taste of silence ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For Gail Doyle's Haiku challenge "A Scenery Of Your Choice As An Artist"

Carrie,.......i am no critic of haikus....i dont understand them at all...........the poem is no doubt a good haiku, but I particularly like the language (evening nibbles at stars, taste of silence, jab invulnerable clouds) and its highly original and evocative personification .....it deserves top place for the choice of language alone .....i send you my very best wishes for a high place in this contest.....Syd
