Tamaso Ma Jyotir Gamaya
Let my soul fly towards the divine light
I’d rather go blind than to stay in dark
The light may torch my spirit in this flight
Here, I may face the unpleasant truth – stark
I’d rather go blind than to stay in dark
Lose my mortal eyes – being enlightened
Here, I may face the unpleasant truth – stark
Consequences are known – I’m not frightened
Lose my mortal eyes – being enlightened
Oh Lord! Let my inner eyes see your face
Consequences are known – I’m not frightened
I’m ready for your immortal embrace
Oh Lord! Let my inner eyes see your face
There would be an end to my endless plight
I’m ready for your immortal embrace
Let darkness end; in your presence – so bright
There would be an end to my endless plight
The light may torch my spirit in this flight
Let darkness end; in your presence – so bright
Let my soul fly towards the divine light
