Sweet and Salty
There once was a king who would eat
Exclusively things that were sweet.
His chefs were at fault
If he tasted salt
So their spicings were very discreet.
On the other hand, there was his queen,
Who favored a sav’ry cuisine.
She liked her food salty
Or dishes were faulty;
The cooks were betwixt and between!
On the day of their princely son’s birth,
She announced, “He’s the salt of the earth!”
But the monarchs did meet
And agreed he was sweet
So the kingdom rejoiced in their mirth.
