A writer and now an graphic artists?! Amazing. There pictographs were very popular in earlier centuries in English literature. I've tried a few and are not easy to do. Great job, Jan. Thanks for the stop by, and best to you in the coming new year – unless Mr. Trump screws the next four years for all of us. / M

I am not 'arty' so i found the contest a real challenge - I originally wanted to do about a cigarette and smoking lol but I changed my mind and wanted to do a bird and this is the result:-) we had a very quiet Christmas as i have another chest infection and we couldn't have mum near us but she had a great time at the care home - just me and hubby for the first time since 1992:-) Hope 2017 is brilliant for you Alexis:-) hugs jan xx

Now that is how it is suppose to be done. Wow Jan, this is fantastic and such beautiful. You just have to love swans, they are majestic creatures and do choose a mate for life. Beautiful my friend. This should take top honors with ease.

I'm not sure if it is 'poetic' enough or even if its what flo is looking for - my initial thoughts was to do one about smoking but then decided as dad had lung cancer it would have ended up being pretty dark so thought a little more lighthearted would be better - place or no place in the contest i enjoyed the challenge - i am sure you will come up with a cracking poem you are so creative:-) hugs jan xx

Wow Jan, this is so impressive and creative! I love it that they mate for life. We have only black swans here and they are beautiful. I bet this does wonderfully in the contest! 7 ; )

Thanks for your lovely comment:-) I've only ever seen white swans Connie - all swans in the UK belong to the Queen... they are so beautiful to look at but they can be quite aggressive especially when they have young:-( I'm not sure if this is what Flo is after but its all my muse could come up with - I was toying with doing a cigarette shape but it seemed quite boring when I thought of doing an bird shape and it turned into a swan:-) Hugs jan xx

They are such graceful birds ^WW^. I have a wonderful photograph I was given many years ago by a friend I worked with it is of a Swan with a line of about 9 cygnets... I wish I has actually been able to witness it for myself. Hope you have a wonderful time during the festive period:-) hugs Jan xx
