Summer Song
Summer Song
Long and hot is the summer;
Crescendos with fear and hate;
Songs so sad and so weary,
The squirrels are losing weight.
I will fill them with music of kindness;
Spray with cool waters of hope;
Maybe then they’ll be in rhythm again,
To laugh at big jays and cope.
One day will be that great day
When the lion will lie down with the lamb;
I’ll hurry that day along
Serenading the squirrels where I am.
