Summer Ends
As summer days grow shorter
and cool breezes nip the air,
moon's in a diff'rent quarter;
trees begin to show their flair.
Bid goodbye to summer's heat
and welcome in the cooling.
Autumn's colors we must greet
and shorter days are ruling.
Blazing colors meet our eyes,
as down a lane we're strolling.
Now appear more cloudy skies
and thunder storms are rolling.
All the geese are on their way,
escaping winter's snowing.
Squirrels are putting nuts away
and winter coats are growing.
