Reality's Rules

Mumbling and grumbling under your breath, you toss and turn, unable to sleep. For as doubt sentences love to death, your feelings flow from shallow to deep. Secreted within your heart and soul, forever dreams overcome despair. And those dreams that leave you feeling whole are precious, so handle them with care. Truth frightens souls wounded by its sting, for if trust falters, nothing is clear. And your heart knows the pain love can bring, thus, it comes with a smidgen of fear. Love ignores imposed logic or norms, often turning heroes into fools. And instigates emotional storms, not subject to reality's rules. A spontaneous upsurge of hope helps you believe two souls can combine. And spinning strands of trust into rope, two hearts are bound; as lovers entwine.

Great, Emile. Particularly enjoyed "Love ignores imposed logic or norms for it can turn heroes into fools."

Nicely done Dear Emile -- I like the image of the strands twisting . . . there is much strength when strands are braided together -- even the knots add texture . . . keep dreaming for they hold hope and adventure. 7
