Stripes
The sun set quickly with stripes of clouds in the sky, as if the lights went out.
Just as we need the hatred to stop that is taking hold, spreading all about.
When it is condoned it grows stronger, like a brewing deadly storm.
Leading people to fear for their safety, their future and their loved ones.
How can we the people be turning on each other in such a way?
How can we be allowing this destruction to happen day after day?
As lives are lost on our soil, it feels like a war here at home on our streets.
It is all for nothing, all based on revenge that is only for all, defeat.
We must turn this around because we have rights and we have laws.
Justice should never be forsaken, as these people who are sadly mistaken.
Reach out your hand, not with assaults. Reach for solutions, not disruption.
For hatred fuels hatred on a continuum where everyone finally falls.
Be not only what you see, because evil is playing a game that you cannot win.
Love will return when the country rests, to breathe only what is for the best.
We now must strive to be bright as the blazing colors of the sun before it sets.
