Street of Tears
As the day so clear
Starts to disappear
You can see the stars
When you lay on your back
The moon glows bright
In the sky of black
The children are peacefully sleeping
And not a sound do you hear
But their mother who lays weeping
Feeling so alone with her fear
She wonders if tomorrow will bring
Food for her precious children
Who are slowly starving
Each day is the same
With not a penny to spare
Nothing but rags for them to wear
They are so very poor
No money in their pockets
For spending at the store
Their father has abandoned them
It seems as though they've been forgotten
What shall become of this struggling family
With nothing to wear and no food to eat
This down trodden family must live in the street
It's all they can do just trying to survive
Without help it's certain this poor family will die
