Street Lights
Street lights
As the sun sets and deep darkness is born,
Day takes rest and busy lanes forlorn,
Street lights glow and pathways shine,
An open invite, evening is on a prime,
Love birds fly, welcome to night owls,
Glittering eyes, no one on the prowl,
A walk with the beloved along the road,
Little faster as they pass below light post,
Looking around stealthily if seen by known,
If lights went off, will they ever moan ?
No life wasted, no hours are odd,
What time is perfect and what time is fraud ?
An end to circadian rhythm, and day's fights,
Turning nights into days are the street lights !
