Street Lights

Street lights As the sun sets and deep darkness is born, Day takes rest and busy lanes forlorn, Street lights glow and pathways shine, An open invite, evening is on a prime, Love birds fly, welcome to night owls, Glittering eyes, no one on the prowl, A walk with the beloved along the road, Little faster as they pass below light post, Looking around stealthily if seen by known, If lights went off, will they ever moan ? No life wasted, no hours are odd, What time is perfect and what time is fraud ? An end to circadian rhythm, and day's fights, Turning nights into days are the street lights ! Word scramble- TARNDAI Written October 6th, 2014 By Dr. Upma A. Sharma For contest 'Find the puzzle' by Nette onclaud Awarded 6th place

Are you a night owl too, Dr. Upma? The images in your poem are universal. We see the lovers walking and the busy highways as people leave work. You probably work rotating shifts as an MD. And I'd love to live in a world where "no one is on the prowl." Not familiar with the contest, but I enjoyed this very much. Thank you for all you do to support the poets here. Always wishing success for you, a lady of great intellect and compassion. Love and blessings, Carolyn
