Desire lit passion's flame,
yet lately, nothing is clear.
And you cannot understand
how love could just disappear.
Restricted to childhood dreams,
hope's no longer in control.
For your reality changed,
when anguish ravaged your soul.
He watched your fragile-heart break,
never averting his eyes.
And still, you believed in him,
up to the final goodbyes.
Drifting between hate and love,
you try to set yourself free.
And yet, such feelings persist,
for doubt will not let you be.
Like a damaged derelict,
you await the storm's demise.
And yet you know, tears won't wash
away a mountain of lies.
