Storms
T
The sky was dark as thunder
Was a long way yet to port
The sea was beginning to boil
In a small boat life wasn't smart
Suddenly a flash of lightening
With fascination watched the colours unfurl
The crack of thunder following
I knew that the storm was near to me still
The little engine was straining
Against the waves that broke its bow
Felt I was on a roller coaster
But no straps to hold me back now.
I tied myself to the mast with a cord
Just in case the waves took me away
Had a life jacket on in due accord
Looked in wonder at the storms vivid display
The noise of the thunder lessened
Telling me it was moving away
Feeling very bruised and battered
thanked God for saving me this day.
