Still Naive

Naive I wish to remain this way I want my eyes to see everything and STILL be able to cry I continue to believe we are a world not a nation we are not colors or cultures just us, men and women When my son was a child colors were something he put to paper I won't give up, though, I started to when I didn't say anything I betrayed you Mother, I let you down But I will take up my arms I will defend you My arms will hold you dear I see so clearly thru your tears
