Stealth Cat

The cat glides soft on feet of stealth. His plush dark coat contains his wealth. Purring here and rubbing there, Adds insult to the dog’s despair. Cat circles, turns, then rubs with chin, Much to the small white dog’s chagrin. Claims master's feet and next his chair, And last the dog whose lying there. A growl and then quick flash of jaw; "Enough of this," dog snarls, "No more!” "If master were not here indeed; That lovely skin and coat might bleed.” Then master, jarred from out his nap, Berates the dog and strokes the cat. Till slowly all calms down and then, Stealth cat begins to glide again. He bares no grudge for dog’s rude snarl. He rubs and purrs and all the while; This tale will soon play out again, As cat lays claim to dog and man.

I have loved animals all my life Demetrios and they have inspired me to write about them many times over and probably will continue to do so. It is just in my nature and I have come to the conclusion that God wanted me to be this way for His own purposes. Thank you for taking the time to comment in a positive manner. It is appreciated more than you can know.

"Little Girl" is the name of my cat and I love and treasure her friendship and acceptance of me in her life. A beautiful humorous poem that explores the mysteries and aura that surrounds your beloved cat. Emile. #7

I have had a feline friends by my side for well over six decades Emile and I can remember each and every one of them, starting with a striped, tabby cat that my parents allowed me to adopt when I was ten years old. They are wonderful pets, but let them out the door (which I no longer do) and you immediately see a bridge from all that is domesticated to something now wild and free. Amazing to behold. Thank you for your kind comments. Not everyone is a cat lover, thereby making your remarks all that much more appreciated.
