Stalking the Locals
On a town near the Murray
He came with a flurry,
When innocent townsfolk walked down the street,
A squawking black and white villain
With evil intentions inside him,
Causing many a good citizen to retreat.
Known as the lament of the locals,
Very good with his vocals,
He'd strut his stuff with those unaware,
For those travelling alone
The magpie would zone,
Especially with folks with no hats looking bare.
Author's note: a magpie bird is well known for dive-bombing people's
heads--especially in the breeding season
Murray: is a well known river separating two states of Australia
