Spring Love
Warm, rich brown earth, teaming with life,
I lay my head upon your breast;
I listen to your beating heart--
its quiet drumming bids me rest.
You lie here naked in the spring
stripped bare by winter's cold;
but soon your grassy gown will grow
and daises lace your hair with gold.
Through winter's long and snowy night,
I have hungered for your face,
to smell the sweet scent of your breath
and hold you close in my embrace.
Today we lie here, unashamed,
within the Sun's resplendent view.
He spreads a blanket of his light
upon two lovers, me and you.
