Spirit In the Sky

Leaving for work like he did everyday he was soon on the highway The Monday rain was just a spray but the sky was still dark grey He changed over to the left lane as along their way others went As once again it started to poor rain as with it came that scent With his windshield wipers going and the radio blasting so loud He had no plan of slowing as along that highway his car howled With a bend now coming in sight and a truck just off to the right Not seeming to be too bright he took the situation a little too trite He didn't make it to work that day and never did get to say goodbye As for him now so many would pray all standing there in asking why His life seemed to just go by so fast and having so much to live for So cherish what will not last for only the Lord knows what's in store I just wonder if he was ready for so many don't prepare being young A subject which is pretty heady as with all the others you are among It's just something to think about as you open up your own car door He too was just heading on out and now all his chances are no more
