Spiked Hugs

It’s hard to explain or put to words But it feels like those hugs are spiked I know it may sound quite absurd But I think maybe, they truly might The tightest squeezes I’ve ever had That relaxes me from head to toe With no complaints just oh so glad As it travels inside out to over flow Even when many days have passed Without the chance to be hugged I close my eyes and feel the grasp Floating high as if I were drugged I wonder how that can actually be When it is certainly after the fact I don’t know, but feel quite lucky And it shows in the silly way I act Florence McMillian (Flo)
