Sonnet For Sheetal

I once knew a lady who changed my life, Before I knew her I was lonely and bitter, We shared something special our love was rife, She made me feel like an MLB home run hitter, That special lady she stole my heart, She was like an Indian Princess in days of yore, Her face like the Mona Lisa a real work of art, She will be spoken of like Helen of Troy from lore, Hair like raven feathers Silky and soft, Her eyes like sunlight through and Orcadian Malt, When I laid eyes upon her my spirit leapt aloft, And her perfect beauty to the heavens I did exalt, So a phrase over used its better to have loved and lost, Because love conquers all no matter the cost
