Sonnet Fail
I mourn inside whenever I'm away;
gasping at the smell trapped upon my clothes.
I embrace small deaths whenever I leave;
kissed by sadness of separation woes.
I can't breathe outside your words' whispered cloud.
Two lone persons morphed into a people.
Alone, I am separate from myself.
You, the foundation to my life's steeple.
My watch will only wind when I see you.
I count each moment, wasting the whole day.
Life is mystery. You're the only clue.
Everything else just gets in the way.
My systems betray when I describe it.
I'm having a hard time writing this true.
I wanted to gift you a love sonnet.
Words fail in painting how much I love you.
So, I added a few more bars to mine.
Hidden inside; this treasure hard to find.
It didn't help. This love can't be confined.
Not in action, song, or poetic line.
