Song Without a Heart

A friend is someone who can see you smiling Even in the dark She's right there, right there when y'need reminding Of who you really are She guards y'against all that is phony Alone with her is far from lonely Mostly I'm a man of two minds one looks forward, n'one behind At times I don't really know myself n' I I just may as well go blind I was hard n' warm, she was soft but cold. Thought it might be what i want, oh well what did I know? You're the sing-along, the song without a heart 'Bout as useless as a deck of playing cards You are the song without a heart Hey, s'what do you know? And it's off to school we go She said, let's pretend like some mothers do Saw it on T.V. that's how I know it is true Here I am now, one solitary fool. I'd sit down but I cannot find an upturned stool If I could touch things, make them come alive If I sang to you might show me what listening looks like You're the sing-along, the song without a heart. Like the peacocks tail in the dark You are the song without a heart Well, what do you know? And so it's off to work you go You are the song without a heart ___________________________________

Hi Linda. This particular song is often one of favourites. It's picking, so in the madness of a performance I've often had to leave it out, in favour of a more rocky song. I've got some recorded studio performances, overdue, I should have them in th... This week. I'm looking forward to hearing how this one turned out. I'll send you a message when I've uploaded it.
