So High high

Went on a vision quest,
never coming down
never coming back down.

Spirits follow me through supermarkets,
pointing out the ones with dark auras
as I handle stale produce bound in abomination.
The spirits say to stay away from the bad ones,
for these cannibals handle packages of flesh buried in shallow graves.
Oh! I know the look of cannibals
who carry around an extra Y chromosome,
serving delusional missions of a false god.
Yes, stay away!
Stay away from my family!

They are preaching from the highest mountain top-
doesn't matter,
as I am already

    so high

Went on a vision quest,
climbing up higher,
never coming down
never coming back down.

One gigantic interconnected lifeform,
but the sacrificial ram cannot see

Farmer Jim drops by with his special tin cup,
filling it up with fresh blood____crimson rivulets pour from a cut throat.
Steam rising in the crisp morning air,
he tips back his wide face taking deep draughts,

    and I

pretend to be a man
even though I am merely a boy,
stopping myself from throwing up curdled breakfast
as farmer Jim wipes lips with a rust coloured sleeve-
a self-medicated sleeve of selfish memories.

They cannot move,
impaled upon a white picket fence,
laughing at me,
but I simply keep moving on,
a dreamwalker switching the tracks
towards a sunrise of futuristic endeavors.

7 deaths and 7 births
trying to fit through the needle's eye-

     I am so high

Was told to never say never,
but I am flying above the boundaries now,
swimming across the borders of dreams,
coming apart at the seams
so that I may be put back together again.

Going on another vision quest,
climbing ever higher,
tearing open my third eye
with the drums of our Earth,
with the drums of dreamwalkers,
never coming down
never coming down.

How can I praise this enough?!! There are a few of you, who I am earnestly trying hard to learn, watch, and perhaps improve my abilities, just by reading your works. Wonderful writing, Chris! I'm in complete agreement with John's choice!!

Like I said, never heard of vision quests before you mentioned them -- and this sure looks like major heavy duty one -- enjoyed bringing "brought along" in this vision quest, especially liked your last stanza for this-- and wish you the best in judging your contest -- haha I am still thinking whether I'm gonna post a contest myself? hmmmm

Smile ~ Wow, what an exceptional and intense painting of a soulful journies poe brushed amid the colours of brilliance i would somewhat say and, nothing better than a visions quest to find oneself perhaps upon a higher plateau per se ~ also, 'thank you,' for visiting and no, cannot see a block coming my dear gifted friend ~ love, Always, christopher ~
