Smile
Reaching forward, pulled in reverse
Tentacles of, depressions curse
Smiles on the outside, are not real
Hiding the true way, that I feel
Illusional reality
That I hope will soon set me free
It's not my goal that I pretend
I'm trying to make this sadness end
Smiles given, meant to protect you
I don't want you, to see me blue
I wade through the muck for a while
My best protection is this smile
If I let it, this smile may lift
Outer image, inner mood shift
Dedicated to anyone who is going through a season of sadness.
It does not have to be a permanent condition. Help is available.
