Sky

I was only ten when I first fell in love surprisingly with the vast blue sky, the sky was very near to me then almost within the reach of my tiny hands as if I could easily touch it or smell its fragrance. Its changing colour used to take me in a world where I built palaces of childhood dreams those childhood dreams had the wings of Pegasus, and I used to talk to the sky for hours, my mother smilingly called me sky-crazy and my father predicted about my bleak future, my friends used to pull my leg. Now after so many years I have proved my father's prediction wrong and some of my friends are jealous about me, but I don't have the time now to look at or talk to the sky, only occasionally I can see it now through my back view mirror~ gradually distancing itself from me. ==============000==============

Looking back......we often see things so much more clearly.... but do take the time to keep the sky in view, Kash....as know that you do! It is what gives you such inspiration to write these beauties! (I don't know how I missed this one before......but I love it!) ;)

Hi kash! I really enjoyed reading this poem-- I haven't read this before and I really liked how you took upon your "childhood sky" here-- I could relate to it on some level and that second stanza, especially the last line was quite memorable, a bit of sadness there with the contrast but definitely left an impact. Super congrats on your win :D

Kash, about what you asked me earlier, this is one that could maybe do well in the contest. I think it was just one line I was not crazy about. "my friends used to pull my legs"(change to "leg" because it's a slang expression that uses singular leg) I really like this one a lot. I had soupmail for you in case you didn't know.

Great poem and congrats on the win. The last line had me hanging on to the write, unwilling to look away. I liked the play of that line, especially, since it is you who are distancing yourself from it. Smiles from Cyndi---PS, I chatted with the sky just now and it misses you terribly. As soon as you read this, please give it a long look and silently, if you must, tell it a secret.
