Simple Things

So amazing, it seems to be.. that joy is found in simple things.... ~ The wave from a neighbor over a white picket rail The first sunny day, after a long winter spell A wood pecker's drum, and the skylark that sings Sweet berries I picked, overflowing the pail Sweet soapy fragrance and a grandchild's smile... straight from his bath...wrapped, warm, in a towel Rays of yellow of sunlight shining bright on the floor And a wreath made of grapevine hanging from the old front door Our calico cat, curled snug on the rug a kiss on the nape, a brief little hug... Old books, gently used..... old photos, often viewed one teacup that was hers, a memory, dear My locket, a keepsake....inscribed with the year Given with love, from someone not here.... All treasures, these things..so simple, so clear Filling my spirit, when I feel despair Seeds of true happiness....aren't very big Just look around you......so simple are needs These things that I will always recall..... Simple can be the most precious of all _________________________________________________________________________ by Carrie Richards..(Spiritual-Philosophical)

Actually, the most beautiful things in life ARE simple. Take nature, for instance...and all the arts.:) So true. Love, Sara:)

Perfect! YES I couldn't agree more. Simple things are the best things! There is a song by Lynrd Skynrd called "Simple Man" and it has always been one of my favorites. :) Simplicity is better than all the wealth and gold in the world, it is what nourishes the heart, for in simple things we are able to see where true wealth lies. Just beautiful Carrie! I am faving it. :) Love, Amy
