(Although I have written a haiku on the same subject, I think this Sijo expresses my feelings in a better way.) Rain swept away the debris of earth and rivers flooded the lands Panic sets off everywhere - Fear of loss takes over the minds On watching the clouds the old man said, " Next year golden harvest (C) Anindya Mohan Tagore (Bobby)

Have you seen this kind of thing. I think it must be horrific! I like how it ended with the old man foretelling better times.

Yes, we are going through this. The villages (just 50 km away from my home) become flood affected and we are arranging camps to distribute relief materials... and the old man is me (although I am just 43, haha!), giving solace to the affected people...
