Silhouette

Hot day has come to an end Strong smell of smouldering wood Pervades the ravaged outback Where spiralling smoke drifts up Lazily as a full moon Highlights the bleak silhouette Of a lone surviving tree. ---------------------------------------- Paul Callus ~ 10th November 2014 Contest: Silhouette of a Heptagonet Sponsor: nette onclaud

This brings to mind all the majestic trees that were lost in our big fire in 2003. Kelowna had been close to being evacuated.

Hi Richard! Unfortunately every year we hear about forest fires and the loss of trees...to these one can add creatures and humans, too. It takes so long to recuperate. // Have a nice weekend. // paul
