Such a clever title Jan - love the play on words! Reminds me so of Shelley's Nautilus - a home remodeling project! Absolutely delightful haiku! Congratulations on your win! Hugs

Many a shell, barren and alone, what was once, of a fitable home. Now discarded, worn to sand. If you can read nature, you'll understand. Fine Haiku Jan. Golly, I so love the beach, James :)

Jan, I loved this haiku from you. It is really good. Also loved the clever use of "shell" in the title. That did not go unnoticed! My one suggestion would be for you to not capitalize your lines in a haiku! Congrats in my contest, luv, andrea

Nice Haiku, knowing how many hermit crabs there are in a given area your crab is going to fight to keep that shell...good luck with the contest
