She Said You Came Too Late
She said, “You came too late; I cannot wait.”
Then I felt a cold wind blowing
Out of the empty spaces,
Out of the places where the futures lie,
And where, unborn, they die.
I remember earlier days
When my futures seemed to lie
In a golden haze before me.
But those days went away
As I waited for them to arrive.
