Shattered Dreams

You could see the pain inside her A child old beyond her years And the story of her life Would bring the coldest man to tears. She could not control her anger Often turning into rage From a life of pain and sorrow Another day, another page. She didn't know how to reach out Or express her feelings well It is difficult to trust someone When your life's a living hell. When you grow up seeing love as Something filled with hurt and shame Now it's time to start your own life Will you reach out for the same? It's hard to change the cycle To get better, not get worse When love has never been a blessing It has always been a curse.

WoW! Awesome write, the title caught my eye only because I have one called " Shattered Dreaming", your poem resonates with me. We survive though, don't we? I see they took scoring away. Still a 7 and more :)

Great use of abstract term, and would be great to see more poems along the same topic (same person) that are more concrete (I.E. pieces that give examples of anger, sorrow, life that she lives). Congratulations on the featured! -Beastboy

Also, meant to say that this piece is a Quatrain (a 4 line stanza setup, with alternating rhyme pattern). I am just saying since you placed it under "I do not know".
